The Wildwood City Commission heard the first reading of an ordinance Monday night that would pave the way for a recreational vehicle park to move into the city.
Commissioners on Sept. 23 will consider a zoning change on a 16.5-acre parcel from medium density residential to general commercial–highway that will allow owner Unity of the Villages Inc. to open Wilderness RV Park. The parcel is located on the south side of County Road 466, about a half mile west of U.S. 301.
The request also was heard earlier Monday during the Planning & Zoning Board meeting and received a favorable recommendation to send it along to the commission. That meeting was held Monday after being rescheduled because of Hurricane Dorian.
