Five more executive golf courses reopening after ‘water dumping’

Five more executive golf courses in The Villages will be reopening after extensive “water dumping” in an effort to keep levels down in retention ponds.

“Water dumping” was taking place in the days leading up to the approach of Hurricane Dorian, which ultimately went north and barely impacted The Villages. The good news is that levels in retention ponds are now down to pre-Hurricane Irma levels of 2017. 

The following courses remain closed, but five of them will be opening up this week as indicated:

De La Vista- will reopen Wednesday, Sept. 11

Chula Vista – will reopen Thursday, Sept. 12

Mira Mesa – will reopen Monday, Sept. 16

Heron

Pelican

Oakleigh

Sweet Gum

Mangrove

Palmetto – will reopen Friday, Sept. 13

Amberwood

Hill Top

Silver Lake – will reopen Friday, Sept. 13.
