Villages couple pays tribute to those lost in 9/11 attack with special flag

Villagers Jerry and Annette Vicenti are flying a special flag paying tribute to those who lost their lives in the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

Villagers Jerry and Annette Vicenti are proudly flying their World Trade Center/Port Authority of New York & New Jersey flag in honor of those who lost their lives in the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001.

The Vicentis, who live in the Seneca Villas in the Village of Hemingway, are proudly displaying their official World Trade Center/Port Authority of New York & New Jersey flag above their home. Jerry Vicenti spent 35 years working for the Port Authority and was part of the unit’s 9/11 recovery effort.

The Vicentis said they are displaying the flag in memory of those who lost their lives that day.

“The Port Authority motto is, ‘We will never forget,’” said Jerry, who serves as a Community Development District 7 supervisor and a representative on the Project Wide Advisory Committee. “I know Annette and I will never forget.”
