A Lady Lake man allegedly pointed a cross bow at another driver last week after a traffic accident.
A 65-year-old Lady Lake man had been traveling shortly before 7 p.m. Sept. 7 on Griffin View Drive when he noticed he was being tailgated by a white van towing a trailer, according to an incident report from the Lady Lake Police Department.
He made a turn onto Quail Street and the van passed him on the right side with the trailer striking his vehicle. The van pulled into a driveway at the end of the street. He followed the van and parked in the street, the report said.
The man who had been driving the van, 34-year-old Robert Anthony Morgan, who lives at 445 Quail St., pointed a cross bow at the 65-year-old man. Morgan threatened to kill the other man, the report said. He left the scene and called police.
Morgan was not at home when police arrived, but his wife provided his phone number. An officer noticed the van and trailer were still at Morgan’s home and the left side of the trailer had a damaged tire and rim.
The officer arranged by phone to meet Morgan at his home. Morgan was issued a criminal citation for leaving the scene of an accident. Morgan said he would be suing the officer and the Lady Lake Police Department for “harassing” him.
