To the Editor:
On Wednesday Sept. 4 we were in Spanish Springs listening to music and enjoying a beautiful evening. Smoking is only allowed according to the rules on the outer perimeter close to the street. Why then are the ashtrays and trash cans not closer to the street? There was an ashtray beside the beverage shack and people stood there smoking. The majority of the smokers were people employed by The Villages at this particular ash tray.
When we set up our chairs there was no one smoking there. I feel that someone should make a decision to move the ashtrays closer to the street. Cigarette smoke stinks and there are people that are allergic to it. I know that we are outside so it should not be a problem but when there are a people standing around one ash tray all smoking at the same time, it can be pretty awful!
