Sumter Commission isn’t representative of the county

To the Editor:

The Sumter Commission has given the Developer a break on things like impact fees to encourage development in The Villages while high impact fees outside The Villages to discourage growth because The Villages will one day want the land. The bulk of county tax revenue is used to maintain The Villages image while the rest of the county goes to shambles. Raising taxes on the poor to maintain the Villages.
The Sumter Commission isn’t representative of the county since One Sumter was shoved down our throats by the Villages. We outside The Villages had this One Sumter rammed down our throats. Commissioners from The Villages do not and can not represent the people outside The Villages. It’s like electing congressmen from another state to represent your state. This is totally unfair and I believe unconstitutional.
