After a productive month of working in our district, I returned to Washington last week as Congress came back in session.
I look forward to continuing to work with my colleagues to secure our border, strengthen our military and bolster our economy by passing the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA).
The USMCA would modernize North America’s outdated trade agreement, NAFTA. The new trade deal would create a more level playing field for American workers. Automobile manufacturers would benefit from improved rules of origin for cars, trucks and other products, such as auto parts.
America’s farmers and ranchers would strengthen their hand in food and agriculture trade throughout North America. This trade deal also contains new chapters on digital trade and good regulatory practices.
The USMCA is a win for American workers and it’s time for Congress to pass this trade agreement.
