A bargaining session between The Villages Professional Firefighters IAFF 4770 and the District will be held beginning at 9 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 2 at the Rohan Recreation Center.
This type of bargaining in Florida is somewhat unusual in that negotiations are completely open to the public.
Firefighters in The Villages in 2017 successfully bargained for a contract including pay hikes even though negotiations between the two parties at times had grown contentious, with the District at one point declaring an impasse.
