Fruitland Park Commission clears way for new car wash on U.S. Hwy. 27/441

Fruitland Park commissioners approved a resolution Thursday night that paves the way for a new car wash to move into the city.

Rendering of the new 3,200-square-foot International Car Wash, which will be located on U.S. Hwy. 27/441 in Fruitland Park.

The 3,200-square-foot International Car Wash will be located on U.S. Hwy. 27/441 between Legends Cafe and Mattress Firm, near the Best Flooring Center and Wal-Mart. It will be a single-tunnel automatic car wash with no detailing provided. The site will include a small office and vacuum stations for customers. And the facility plans to recycle 80 percent of the water used to clean vehicles at the 1.7-acre site.

The facility, which gained approval from the city’s Planning and Zoning Board on Sept. 19 and first came before the commission in September 2018, will be required to comply with the Fruitland Park’s non-residential design standards and Lake County’s requirements to design, permit and construct a 5-foot sidewalk – about 109 feet – along Dixie Avenue. The car wash will be accessed by customers from U.S. Hwy. 27/441 and S Dixie Avenue.

This map shows the location of 3,200-square-foot International Car Wash that’s coming to Fruitland Park.
