Sumter County commissioners are out of touch with reality

To the Editor:

That is the problem with these commissioners. They are out of touch with reality.  There were plenty complaints to this increase.
I have been a commissioner in another state and these folks do not represent me or their job. First of all why is this increase needed?  Where is their 10 year plan to support this request? The commissioners are claiming tax/money shortfalls are because of increased population growth That does not ring true as with the population increase comes more taxes.  Why was not a bond (for roads and infrastructure) approved by the residents even mentioned for these roads?  Why is it now important to sync all the traffic lights?  Why was this not done at time of original installation?
And why have we not been informed until the Emergency hit that we find out all these questions. We the taxpayer are going to have to pay for their lack of planning.
