Bad Parking ignites nasty fight at Lake Sumter Landing

Sumter County sheriff’s detectives are asking for the public’s help in locating a couple  involved in a nasty altercation in Lake Sumter Landing last month.

Sheriff’s deputies were called to the Old Mill Playhouse in Lake Sumter Landing shortly after 9 p.m. on Sept. 1 and when they arrived, a man told them he had been in an altercation with a couple over where he was parked.

Sumter County sheriff’s detectives are seeking information about the couple pictured above in connection with an incident that occurred at Lake Sumter Landing last month.

The victim said the incident started as an argument but became physical when the man pictured above attempted to open his passenger door. The victim said he exited his vehicle and the man grabbed his shirt, pushed him up against the vehicle and then punched him in the face, a sheriff’s office report states.

After they exchanged punches, the victim said he turned around and saw the woman pictured above in the driver’s seat of his vehicle. He said he turned back around to see where the man was and then saw the woman walk by and throw his iPhone into a storm drain. The victim said he later discovered that she’d also thrown his car keys into the drain, the report says.

Detectives believe the man and woman might be married. They have been seen together at City Fire in The Villages, the report says.

Detectives want to speak with the couple and are asking anyone with information about them or their identities to call Detective Hart at (352) 793-2621 and reference case number 4465.
