Two local postal workers have filed a police report over alleged harassment by their fellow staffers.
The 22-year-old and 18-year-old subcontract delivery drivers for the U.S. Post Office on Teague Trail in Lady Lake filed the report Oct. 12 with the Lady Lake Police Department. The pair started working for the post office about five months ago.
One of women told police six fellow workers made “derogatory statements” about her “in person” and on social media, according to the incident report. Her attire and driving ability had been called into question and one person blocked in her vehicle at a parking spot.
The 22-year-old woman said a male employee was “constantly bumping into her when he passed her at work.” She said the same employee “will cut her off by pulling in front of her, and then purposely drive under the speed limit and then slam on his brakes for no reason.” She claimed that he and others stared at her to “try to make her feel uncomfortable” in the work place.
Both women told police that they had reported the incidents to their supervisor and “nothing has been done to try to rectify the situation.”
