Woman arrested in theft of lottery tickets at Circle K at Southern Trace Plaza

Suspect Candance Solomon was captured on video surveillance at Circle K at Southern Trace Plaza.

A woman has been arrested in the theft of lottery tickets at Circle K at Southern Trace Plaza in The Villages.

Candance Solomon, 25, of Wildwood, contacted the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office on Thursday after seeing a video surveillance image of herself in a bulletin posted on the sheriff’s office’s Facebook. She said she “wanted to talk.”

A deputy was already on the way to Solomon’s home, having also received an anonymous tip that it was her in the surveillance images on the Facebook page.

Solomon admitted that on Sept. 25 she had gone to the Circle K and stole 32 scratch-off tickets for the Florida Lottery’s $1,000 A Week For Life game.

She cashed them in for $48 at the Circle K at Trailwinds Plaza on County Road 466A in Wildwood. She also cashed tickets at Clark’s Pump-and-Shop at Lake Deaton Plaza in The Villages.

She was arrested on charges of dealing in stolen property and petit theft. She was booked at the Sumter County Detention Center and released after posting $6,000 bond.
