Dorothy Sheehan

Dorothy M. Sheehan (Dot), 93, of The Villages, FL passed away on Sunday, October 20, 2019.

Dot Sheehan was born in Milwaukee, WI and was married for almost 66 years to her late husband, Don, who she has now joined in Heaven. She was a loving and wonderful wife, Mom, Grandma and Great Grandma. She is survived by daughters Mary Kay, The Villages and Barbara Gilbert, AZ; sons Terry, The Villages; Dennis, Columbus, OH; Kevin, Louisville, KY; Tim, Dallas, TX; Mark, Tulsa, OK and Pat, Pooler, GA; and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Dot raised 8 children while moving with her husband’s career from Wisconsin, to Washington, IL, Mexico City, Mexico, Louisville, KY and Butte, MT. She and Don moved to the Villages in 1989 to retire.

Dot loved living in The Villages, enjoying cards, Mexican Train, water aerobics, golf, travel and many friends, and loved having family visit. Her fluency in the Spanish language led her to many years of volunteering as a teacher’s aide at Villages Elementary.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, January 17, 2020 at 8:30 a.m. at St. Timothy Catholic Church in Lady Lake, FL. Dorothy will be buried next to Don in Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Haven, 2602 South St., Leesburg, FL 34748.
