A misguided motorist opted for the golf cart lane while driving in Florida’s Friendliest Hometown.
The incident was captured on a dash cam when the white vehicle was traveling on Canal Street just north of Bonita Boulevard.
Bad Driving in The Villages seems to get worse at this time of year, when snowbirds are returning.
Last week Villages-News.com documented two incidents involving Bad Driving:
• The first incident occurred as a maroon SUV attempted to leave Village Crossroads at the intersection of Old Vineyard Road and U.S. Hwy. 27/441. The SUV, which appeared to have an out-of-state license plate, was in the left lane, not designated for northbound traffic. The wrong-way driver reportedly escaped unscathed – and unticketed.
• The second documented incident occurred as a golf cart – that clearly was not Street Legal – pulled out of Colony Plaza shopping center, crossed County Road 466A and headed for Colony Professional Plaza. That type of crossing by a golf cart is unlawful. A tunnel under County Road 466A was less than a mile away.
