Wildwood police officer wins promotion to rank of lieutenant

A Wildwood law enforcement officer has won a promotion to the rank of lieutenant.

Wildwood Police Chief Randy Parmer on Monday before the Wildwood City Commission announced that John Walker has been promoted to lieutenant.

Walker has been a member of the Wildwood Police Department for more than 12 years.

Parmer explained that he wanted to stay inside the department when looking to fill this position.

The chief said Walker has been a dedicated member of the department. He said when the department was recently low on manpower, Walker canceled his vacation and volunteered to fill in.

“It was also his (wedding) anniversary,” Parmer said.

The chief noted that Walker had recently earned an associate degree in criminal justice.
