Jorge Silva

A reckless driver was jailed after a check showed his driver’s license had been suspended for failure to pay child support.

A motorist called 911 at 1:22 a.m. Sunday to report a reckless driver in a silver Nissan Titan truck, according to an arrest report from the Lady Lake Police Department.

The truck was spotted as it passed a Lady Lake Police Department squad car on U.S. Hwy. 27/441. The truck was “slightly swerving,” the officer wrote in the arrest report.

The driver was identified as 45-year-old Jorge Silva of Lady Lake.

A check revealed his driver’s license had been suspended Sept. 16 for delinquency of child support.

He was booked at the Lake County Jail and released after posting $1,250 bond.
