Rotary Club of The Villages plans fundraising event at Oxford Polo Club

If you want to get up close and personal with polo horses and players while enjoying some great food and helping out your community, Rotary Club of The Villages has just the event for you.

The group is holding a fundraising event on Saturday, Nov. 16 from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Oxford Polo Club off County Road 466.

Those attending will have the chance to mingle with polo players and their horses. A precision 8-horse drill team will perform and a collection of Mercedes-Benz vehicles, including a 1982 240D with close to 500,000 miles on it, will be on display. Several vendors, including Stretch Zone, Advanced Dermatology and Mercedes Benz of Gainesville also will be on hand.

The event will open with Mimosas and pastries. Later, a catered BBQ lunch of chicken, pulled pork and ribs will be provided by Oakwood Express.

Tickets are $47.50 apiece plus a 50-cent transaction fee. They can be ordered online by clicking HERE and will be delivered via email and to cell phones as text messages. Directions to the Oxford Polo Club will be printed on the tickets.

Proceeds from the event will help fund Rotary projects like Harbour View Elementary School, Smiles for Vets Dental Program, local food pantries and other charities.
