Wildwood man arrested second time in a week with drugs in his pocket

A Wildwood man has been arrested for the second time within in a week with drugs in his pocket.

Justin David Hess, 24, of Wildwood, was free on bond from a Nov. 5 arrest after he was spotted at about 1 a.m. on Veterans Day carrying a man who appeared to be intoxicated on State Road 44 near the Interstate 75 on-ramp, according to an arrest report from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office.

His pupils appeared dilated and a deputy asked Hess if he had consumed any illegal narcotics. He claimed he had not. A search of his pockets turned up crack cocaine and a small amount of marijuana.

Hess was arrested on charges of possession of cocaine and possession of marijuana. He was booked at the Sumter County Detention Center and released after posting $2,000 bond.
