A Golden Corral restaurant employee was found dead at his home in The Villages.
The 24-year-old was found dead on the afternoon of Nov. 9 in the bedroom of a home on Bonita Drive in the Village of Silver Lake, according to an incident report from the Lady Lake Police Department.
A co-worker had become concerned about the man after he failed to show up for work, something that was out of the ordinary.
Police responded to the man’s home and found him in a prone position in the bedroom. The man had been struggling with “memory issues” for about three weeks. Police found notes in the bedroom that the man left as reminders for himself. One of the the notes led to a lighthouse figurine under which folded papers containing cocaine and fentanyl were located.
The man’s father had been up north when his son’s body was discovered. He returned home and learned of his son’s death.
The man’s body was removed from the home by the Medical Examiner’s Office.
