To the Editor:
I subscribe to the local “fish wrapper.”
I find it interesting that the publisher did’t see fit to acknowledge that national news is important fodder for their newspaper. Daily front page headlines never reference important news but rather concentrate on subjects that may be of interest to only some small segment of the locals.
One has to search its pages to find any reference to the facts, such as, the president of the United States is being investigated for high crimes and misdemeanors which will likely result in articles of impeachment. Yes, I’m well aware of the political leanings of those who control our daily paper, but can only hope that they would develop a more public service-oriented reporting of the news that might just be more important to a majority of readers whose interests extend beyond yesterdays softball scores, holes in one or photos of grandchildren, cruise travels or a host of other things that I believe most readers could care less about.
