Healthy eatery opening at former site of Bowlbar Kitchen in The Villages

A new healthy eatery is opening at the former site of the Bowlbar Kitchen restaurant in The Villages.

Tropical Smoothie Cafe will open its doors next month at 4058 Wedgewood Lane.

The eatery offers bold, flavorful smoothies with a healthy appeal, all made-to-order with quality ingredients. The cafe boasts using “real fruits, veggies and juices” in its smoothies.

Tropical Smoothie Cafe is coming to the former home of the Bowl Bar in The Villages.

It’s menu also includes toasted wraps, sandwiches, flatbreads and quesadillas using quality meats, fresh produce and flavorful sauces.

Tropical Smoothie Cafe will officially open its doors at 7 a.m. Dec. 20 and the first 50 customers in line will enjoy free smoothies for a year.

District Manager Lindsey Wilson and local General Manager Amber Arnold were conducting hiring interviews last week for interested applicants.

Tropical Smoothie Cafe opened its first location in 1997 in Tallahassee. Its 700th cafe was opened in 2018 in Hurst, Texas.

Bowlbar Kitchen had offered a health-conscious option at the Wedgewood Lane location and enjoyed a loyal following. However, the restaurant abruptly shut its doors in May. Prior to Bowlbar Kitchen, the location had been home to a Starbucks.
