Lady Lake landlord arrested after alleged attack on her tenant

Bridget Mullins Bingman

A Lady Lake landlord was arrested after an alleged attack on her tenant.

Lake County sheriff’s deputies were called shortly before 10 p.m. Friday to the 3000 block of Hartsock Sawmill Road where a woman said she found her landlord, 53-year-old Bridget Mullins Bingman, in her home. The woman said Bingman had been drinking and ordered her to leave. She said Bingman grabbed her by the hair and pulled her to the ground. She also claimed that Bingman choked her to the point she could not breathe, before leaving the residence.

Deputies found Bingman next door sitting on her back deck. It appeared she had been drinking and she insisted she had the right to enter her tenant’s home. The Ohio native claimed she injured her knee and an ambulance was summoned. As she was being prepared for transport to Leesburg Regional Medical Center, a marijuana pipe fell from her pocket. The pipe had been loaded with a green leafy substance determined to be marijuana.

She was arrested on charges of burglary, marijuana possession and possession of drug paraphernalia. She was booked at the Lake County Jail and released after posting $28,000 bond.
