Former Villager wins award at Orlando independent film group event

A former resident of the Village of Fernandina was recently recognized for her work at an Orlando independent film group event.

Norma Jean Lipert, who now resides in Stonecrest, on Nov. 23 won an award for the best hair and makeup in a film at the red carpet awards gala.

She also received six nominations for her own short film in which she was the writer, producer and first-time director. Her film, “The Perils of Fine Dining,” received the following nominations: best picture, best story, best director, best actor, best supporting actor and best supporting actress.

She attended the awards ceremony with her husband, Vince.
