Estranged boyfriend arrested after another alleged attack on girlfriend

Ian Michael Harvey

An estranged boyfriend was arrested after another alleged attack on his girlfriend at the PepperTree Apartments in Wildwood.

Ian Harvey, 39, is being held without bond following his arrest Tuesday night after a traffic stop at U.S. 301 and the Florida Turnpike, according to an arrest report from the Wildwood Police Department.

Harvey had been free on bond following an arrest in October after he allegedly pulled the hair of his live-in lady friend.

Harvey reportedly returned to their apartment on Nov. 8 to retrieve some of his personal belongings. She told Harvey he could not remove any of their joint property without the presence of law enforcement. He apparently got angry and threw a large cup of soda at her. He then slapped her ear, the arrest report indicated. She called 911 and Harvey fled the scene.

A warrant was issued for his arrest.

Harvey has previously been charged with battery in 2014, 2015 and 2016. Each of those cases was dropped, according to files in Sumter County Court.
