Police called to Chick-fil-A in The Villages after discovery of counterfeit currency

Police were called to the Chick-fil-A restaurant at Rolling Acres Plaza in The Villages after the discovery of counterfeit currency.

An officer responded to the restaurant during Wednesday’s lunch rush after being contacted by the general manager.

She said an employee had asked her to check a $50 bill “because it seemed funny,” according to an incident report from the Lady Lake Police Department.

“The bill was actually a washed five-dollar bill and had the markings and writings of $5.00 when held up to the light,” the officer wrote in the report.

The general manager also had three other counterfeit bills – two $20 bills and a $10 bill.
