Daily Sun production facility employee arrested after cookie-throwing dispute

Kalib Jacobs

A Villages Daily Sun production facility employee was arrested after a cookie-throwing incident in a domestic dispute.

Kalib Jacobs, 29, of Lady Lake, was being held Saturday at the Sumter County Detention Center following his arrest Friday morning on a charge of battery.

Deputies had been called to a residence at 8:13 a.m. after Jacobs threw an unwrapped cookie at a man, striking him in the chest, according to an arrest report. The victim said it appeared Jacobs was “being disrespectful” and appeared to be attempting to provoke a fight, the report said. The victim’s wife backed up his account of what had transpired.

Jacobs, a native of El Paso, Texas, was taken into custody and booked at the jail where he was initially held without bond.
