Elderly man airlifted from Colony Plaza after stepping into path of vehicle

An elderly man was airlifted from Colony Plaza on Tuesday afternoon after stepping into the path of a vehicle on County Road 466A in front of the McDonald’s restaurant.

The accident happened at about 4 p.m. when the man stepped into the path of the vehicle and got caught up in a wheel well.

An elderly man was airlifted Tuesday afternoon from an empty field next to Walgreens at Colony Plaza.

The Villages Public Safety Department transported the man from the scene of the accident to an empty field next to Walgreens at Colony Plaza. He was airlifted from that location to Ocala Regional Medical Center, having suffered an injury to his leg.

The Florida Highway Patrol has been called in to investigate the accident.
