A home in The Villages with delinquent taxes has been found in violation of the “neat and clean” rule.
The home is owned by Brenda Martin and located at 427 Tarrson Blvd. on the Historic Side of The Villages.
A complaint about overgrown grass and weeds at the the property was received on Oct. 8, according to information presented at a public hearing Wednesday before the Village Center Community Development District Board of Supervisors.
The home is vacant and public records do not indicate a mortgage on the property, according to the Community Standards Department. The utilities have been turned off. The real estate taxes were paid for 2015 and 2017, but are delinquent for 2016 and 2018, a Community Standards representative indicated to the board.
Community Standards has not been able to make contact with the owner.
The board voted unanimously to find Martin in violation of deed compliance and gave her three days to bring the property into compliance. If it is not brought into compliance, she will face a $250 fine to be followed by a $250 fine each time the District is forced to maintain the property.
