John “Larry” Duffy Sr.

John “Larry” Duffy, Sr, 83, of The Villages passed away Thursday, December 12, 2019.

Mr. Duffy was born July 23, 1936 in New Albany, IN to Henry Anthony and Elizabeth (Lang) Duffy. Larry retired after serving as the president of a food brokerage firm in Louisville, KY where he worked for more than 20 years. He also worked as the national sales manager for a family owned manufacturing firm for more than 15 years. In addition, he had served in the Air National Guard for 6 years while raising his family.

Larry moved to Florida 35 years ago from Floyd Knobs, IN where he subsequently moved to The Villages in 2010 from Boynton Beach. He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus, the Indiana Club, the Florida Club, and the Buttonwood club. Larry enjoyed walking, riding in his golf cart in The Villages and golfing until he realized he would not be able to turn pro.

Survivors include his loving wife of 65 years, Rhonda; children, John Duffy, Jr of The Villages, Kevin Duffy (Lisa) of Greenville, IN, Jeffrey Duffy (Gisela) of Safety Harbor and Konda Carr (Rob) of Orlando; brothers, Patrick Duffy (Maxi) and Tony Duffy (Willa); 4 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. A Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, December 18, 2019 in the St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church with a celebration of life luncheon following the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church building fund, 5323 E. CR 462, Wildwood, FL 34785.
