Villager ordered into anger management after battle over bottle of vodka

Nanette Reneau

A Village of Belle Aire woman has been ordered into anger management after a battle earlier this year over a bottle of vodka.

Nanette Reneau, 60, who lives at 3321 Bedford Way, was arrested Aug. 29 on a charge of battery.

When deputies arrived at the residence, a man showed them a bleeding abrasion on his right forearm. He said he had been arguing with Reneau, who grabbed a bottle of vodka and went into a bedroom, according to the arrest report. The man feared that due to Reneau’s past drinking history, she would consume the entire bottle. He removed the door lock handle to prevent Reneau from locking herself in the bedroom. He took the bottle of vodka from her and went to another bedroom. She followed him and tried to reach in and hit him on the arm, the arrest report said. He said Reneau tried to pull the door shut on his arm.

Reneau was “uncooperative” when a deputy attempted to speak with her.

Reneau will avoid prosecution in the case after entering into a pre-trial intervention contract which calls on her to complete eight hours of anger management, fulfill 20 hours of community service and pay a $250 fine.
