Wildwood police searching for bandit who stole generator from Lowe’s store

The Wildwood Police Department is seeking help in nabbing a thief who recently ripped off the Lowe’s Home Improvement store at Trailwinds Village.

Wildwood Police officers are searching for the man above, who is accused of stealing a generator from the Lowe’s Home Improvement store in Wildwood and driving away in a black Chevrolet pickup truck.

Police are searching for a black male who was wearing a plaid shirt, red or orange shorts, red or orange shoes and a medical protection mask. He was driving a black Chevrolet pickup truck and after entering the parking lot of the store, located at 5630 Seven Mile Drive, he opened the tailgate and walked inside to the area where generators are located.

Surveillance footage showed the man unbox a Caterpillar 6500W generator, put it on his cart and proceed to the garden center area. He then exited the store without paying for the generator, loaded it into the bed of his pickup and drove away, the report says.

Anyone with information on the crime or the suspect is asked to contact Lt. James O’Neill or Crime Line 800-423-TIPS (8477).
