Sumter sheriff’s detectives searching for bandits who targeted Villages Wal-Mart

Sumter County sheriff’s detectives are asking for help in nabbing a thief and her accomplices who ripped off a gaming console from Wal-Mart in The Villages last month.

Three black males and a black female entered the store at Buffalo Ridge Plaza on April 25 between 10 and 10:30 a.m. and headed to the electronics department. The female asked to see a PlayStation 4 console, which a clerk removed from a locked case. The female then snatched the gaming console from the clerk and exited the store – along with her accomplices – a short time later, a report states.

The female suspect, who had her hair pulled up, was wearing a button-up Army green jacket and light-colored pants. The male suspects were described as:

  • 30ish, 5-foot-10-inches tall, wearing a multicolored cap, dark-colored pants, a white T-shirt with graphics printed on it, black hair down to his neck and soft-spoken;
  • 8 to 12 years of age, approximately 4-foot-5-inches tall with short dark hair, wearing black jeans and a black T-shirt;
  • Dressed in what looked like black Adidas sweatpants, a black hoodie sweatshirt, with short dreaded hair.

Anyone with information about the crime or the suspects is asked to contact Detective Hart at (352) 793-2621 or Crimeline at 1-800-423-TIPS (8477) and reference case number 1906.
