A woman was arrested after an alleged attack on a man who called her “filthy names.”
Elena Bumbu, 62, of Wildwood, is facing a charge of battery following her arrest May 17 by Sumter County sheriff’s deputies.
Bumbu said the man “got in her face” while she was holding a cup of coffee which she spilled on herself due to the confrontation, according to the arrest report. He called her “filthy names” and she began slapping and striking the man. The man did not have any visible injuries and refused medical treatment.
The Romanian-born woman was taken into custody and booked at the Sumter County Detention Center. She was released after posting $200 bond.
