COVID-19 testing site opening in Fruitland Park after city reports fifth case

A drive-through COVID-19 testing site will open in Fruitland Park on Wednesday.

Testing provided by Adult Medicine of Lake County will be available at the Cales Memorial Multipurpose Soccer Field Recreation Complex, 500 Shiloh St., from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Wednesday, May 27 and again on Wednesday, June 3. The testing site is opening on the day after Fruitland Park identified its fifth case of the Coronavirus and Lake County reported a total of 277 cases.

A drive-through COVID-19 testing site in Fruitland Park will be open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Wednesday, May 27 and again on Wednesday, June 3. It will be located at the Cales Memorial Multipurpose Soccer Field Recreation Complex, 500 Shiloh St.

COVID-19 testing also will be available at the First Baptist Church of Astor, 24731 Ann St., from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday, May 29. Adult Medicine’s testing locations also will continue operations at the Lake County Fairgrounds and the Clermont Arts & Recreation Center located at:

2101 N. County Road 452, Eustis (testing will be available from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mondays through Fridays); and
3700 S. Highway 27, Clermont (testing will be available from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays).

The FDA-approved swab or antibody tests will be administered to the public for $20, and the sites will be open to both residents and non-residents of Lake County. Residents with symptoms who are unable to receive testing through their primary healthcare provider should call the Florida Department of Health Hotline at (352) 742-4830. Callers who meet the criteria for testing will receive an appointment for free testing at a Lake County testing location.
