Woman living in semi jailed after shirt-ripping brawl over bottle of wine

Erika Maria Schaper

A woman living in a semi truck was jailed after a shirt-ripping brawl with a man over a bottle of wine.

Wildwood police were called at about 1 a.m. Friday to the Sunoco service station at the intersection of U.S. 301 and State Road 44, where they arrested 37-year-old Erika Maria Schaper of Jacksonville.

A man living in the semi with her said Schaper became violent when he took a bottle of wine away from her, according to an arrest report. He had suffered multiple scratches on his face and his shirt had been ripped. Schaper had blood underneath her fingernails.

She was arrested on a charge of battery and booked at the Sumter County Detention Center. She was being held without bond on a probation violation. She had been sentenced in 2009 to seven years in prison on a charge of DUI manslaughter.
