Drugs were found in an Ohio man’s vehicle parked at a Winn-Dixie store in The Villages.
A Lady Lake police detective in an unmarked vehicle at about 7:30 a.m. Tuesday ran the number on an Ohio temporary tag attached to a white Nissan Altima parked in the parking lot at the Winn-Dixie store at La Plaza Grande in Spanish Springs. It showed the tag had expired in April.
When Darren Michael Frasier, 23, of Orrville, Ohio, returned to the vehicle, officers determined his license had been revoked in 2016. He also has a previous conviction for driving while license suspended in Lake County.
While his vehicle was being inventoried prior to being towed, police discovered 1.33 grams of methamphetamine, 1.52 grams of heroin and drug paraphernalia. A device with a long strip of magnets was also found, the type of tool frequently used to demagnetize merchandise when shoplifting.
Frasier was arrested on charges of possession of an anti-shoplifting device, possession of heroin, possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving while license suspended. He was booked at the Lake County Jail and released after posting $9,000 bond.
