The construction of a traffic signal will impact traffic in the coming days on County Road 466 near The Villages.
The traffic signal will be constructed at the intersection of County Road 466 and Cherry Lake Road (also known as County Road 100) near an enormous new apartment complex being built on the Sumter County side of the intersection.
On Tuesday, June 2, the outside lane of County Road 466 westbound will be closed between the hours of 7 a.m. and 4 p.m.
On Wednesday, June 3, the outside lane of County Road 466 eastbound will be closed between the hours of 7 a.m. and 4 p.m.
Lake Sumter Apartment Homes and Lake Sumter Senior Living will include 300 units. The project will offer sorely needed housing for a workforce in The Villages.
The developer of the apartment complex is paying for the construction of the traffic signal.
The developer of the property recently released the price structure for the units.
When the apartment complex was originally proposed to the Sumter County Commission, residents of the Village of Haciendas of Mission Hills objected.
