DUI suspect apprehended in parking lot of Publix in The Villages

Dale Patrick Lukowski

A suspected drunk driver was apprehended in the parking lot of a Publix grocery store in The Villages.

Dale Patrick Lukowski, 43, who lives in The Quarters Apartments in Lady Lake, claimed he had consumed two mixed drinks when he was approached by officers shortly after noon Saturday in the parking lot at La Plaza Grande in The Villages, according to an arrest report from the Lady Lake Police Department.

The Nebraska native, who was arrested earlier this year on a DUI charge, struggled through field sobriety exercises. He provided breath samples that registered .267 and .272 blood alcohol content.

He was arrested on charges of driving while license suspended for DUI and driving under the influence.

He was booked at the Lake County Jail and released after posting $12,000 bond.
