A 7-Eleven convenience store with a car wash on Beaumont property north of County Road 466A across from Pinellas Plaza in The Villages was recommended for approval Tuesday at a meeting of the Wildwood Planning and Zoning Committee.
The store is one of several businesses planned for the 156-acre property, along with 1,298 single-family homes, town homes and apartments, as well as a 160-room hotel.
A 7-Eleven store is also going in at Colony Plaza in The Villages.
Special Magistrate Grant Watson recommended approval of a site plan for the 3,476-square-foot store on 2.1 acres, which will include 16 gasoline pumps amd a 980-square-foot car wash. Final approval is required by the city commission, which could take it up later this month.
Site plans for two other Beaumont businesses next to the 7-Eleven also are nearly complete.
Consideration of a site plan for Action Gator Beaumont, a 6,600-square-foot auto repair and tire business on one acre, was postponed until July 7 so the developer can address some outstanding issues.
Watson granted a special exception in March to allow the business to operate in an area zoned for central mixed use.
The building will have eight service bays facing adjacent businesses instead of homes to the north or the county road to the south. Two dozen parking spaces also will be located on the 16,000-square-foot site.
Review of a site plan for a 7,600-square-foot Sweetwater Car Wash also was delayed until Aug. 4 to deal with outstanding issues. A full-service car wash, Sweetwater has four other locations in the Orlando area.
