Summerfield man once popped on child porn charges jailed after tiff with gal pal

Brandon Tylor Green

A “curious” Summerfield man who was arrested last year on 20 counts of possession of child pornography is back behind bars after a nasty skirmish with his lady friend.

Marion County sheriff’s deputies responded to 23-year-old Brandon Tylor Green’s residence on Tuesday and spoke to a woman who told them they had been in a verbal altercation. She said the dispute started when she told Green she was planning to move out of the residence, a sheriff’s office report states.

The woman said she and Green were arguing loudly and she wanted to “separate herself from the situation,” so she took a child outside to sit on the front porch “to let things settle down.” She said Green took the child to his juvenile cousin, who was sitting on a counter near the kitchen. She said she felt like they were trying to keep the child away from her, the report says.

The woman said she went to retrieve the child and Green came up behind her and grabbed both of her wrists. She said she turned around to face Green and he pushed her against the kitchen counter. She said she fought back to get Green off of her and the child was taken to a back bedroom inside the residence, the report says.

The woman said she attempted to go to the back bedroom but Green shoved her backward repeatedly. She said she continued to try to get away from Green but he shoved her into a window. She told deputies “the touching was unwanted.”

The woman said she got away from Green and tried a second time to go to the back bedroom where the child was located. But Green came up behind her and pushed her into the bedroom door, so she left the residence and called law enforcement for help.

After being read his rights, Green said he and the woman were in a “heated verbal argument” and she was “furious and had a bad attitude.” He said the woman wanted to pick up the child and he “physically restrained” her to keep her away by grabbing her arms, the report says.

Green claimed the woman tried to bite him and he shoved her away as she hit him in the stomach. He admitted that he followed the woman to the bedroom and grabbed her by the arms a second time. He also claimed she struck him so he held her arms against the bedroom door, the report says.

Green’s grandmother said she saw the woman try to pick up the child and Green grabbed her by both shoulders. She also said Green pushed the woman into a door.

Green was placed under arrest and transported to the Marion County Jail, where he was charged with domestic battery. He was being held on no bond and his next court date hasn’t yet been set, jail records show.

Green is no stranger to the Marion County legal system, having been arrested this past November on the multiple possession of child pornography charges. He initially was held on $100,000 bond and at the time of his arrest, he told sheriff’s detectives that he was “curious to know what child pornography looked like.” His case appears to be ongoing in the Marion County Court system, with delays likely connected to the COVID-19 pandemic.
