Charles R. Skadra passed into the arms of God on June 17, 2020 in the compassionate care of his wife Anita at the Cornerstone Hospice residence in The Villages.

Chuck was born in Johnstown, NY on Sept 13, 1940 to Henry Skadra and Elizabeth Valchovic.

He retired from the US Air Force after 21 years of service as a Master Sargent on June 30,1978. He was employed at Norton Company in Watervliet, NY and then went on to drive limos at Premiere Limo in Albany, NY.

For the past 16 years, Chuck worked at Glenview Champions Country Club as an ambassador and a starter at Stirup Cub and Fox Run Courses. He was an advid golfer all his life and enjoyed playing with his Sunday couples group for several years. He also enjoyed playing with his buddies on Monday and Thursday morning, then stopping at the 19th Hole for a beer and a bite to eat.

In a recent conversation with one of his friends, Chuck expressed that he was living a lifelong dream. He was very grateful and said they were the best years of his life. Chuck loved living in The Villages. The area was more than he could have ever wished for. He was working at the golf course and golfing whenever he wanted … much more than he ever expected.

Also several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by brothers, Gordon and David Skadra; and sisters, Helen Bott and Gloria Frazier.

Chuck will be greatly missed by his family and friends for his infectious smile. His beautiful spirit will be cherished and missed, but never forgotten. Grandpa Chuck will be forever remembered by his two loving granddaughters. He was their biggest supporter and fan.

There will be no services per his wishes. Donations in Chuck’s name should be sent to Cornerstone Hospice in The Villages: 601 Mariposa Way, The Villages, FL 32162.
