To the Editor:
I have spoken out against the end of recycling in The Villages and will continue to do so. They are marching backwards and are charging us more for the “burn,” without consideration of toxins being released by burning plastics and styrofoam.
They have not even considered recycling aluminum, which is a lightweight, nonrenewable which has no degradation when recycled many times. Bad thinking and no one I spoke to even blinked when I objected. Their own statistics show that 75 percent of people surveyed wanted to keep the recycling. Stupid and short sighted.
