Popular Outdoor Channel fishing show to feature Leesburg tournament

Leesburg and the Harris Chain of Lakes will be featured on an upcoming episode of a television show popular among fishermen.

Fishing League Worldwide (FLW) has announced that its schedule for the 2020 season of “FLW Fishing” includes an episode featuring the Tackle Warehouse Pro-Circuit set on the Harris Chain of Lakes in Leesburg.

‘FLW Fishing’ will air an episode July 10 featuring the Tackle Warehouse Pro-Circuit tournament that was held on the Harris Chain of Lakes in Leesburg this past February.

The Friday, July 10 episode will air on the Outdoor Channel from 7 to 9 p.m. featuring the Leesburg tournament held Feb. 20-23. The competition was staged at Ski Beach in Venetian Gardens with 153 bass pros competing for a total purse of more than $840,000. Laramy Strickland from Bushnell took home the top prize with winnings of $103,000.

Additional re-airings of the episode will be shown on the Outdoor Channel and Sportsman Channel throughout the subsequent week

The Tackle Warehouse Pro-Circuit tournament that was held on the Harris Chain of Lakes in February drew 153 bass pros competing for a total purse of $840,000.

“Leesburg and Lake County have long been recognized for our fisheries, especially the Harris Chain of Lakes,” said Leesburg Recreation Director Travis Rima. “The economic impact of fishing events held in Leesburg in the past year is estimated to be over $3 million. Lake County and FLW are excellent partners in these endeavors and the City of Leesburg is proud to showcase Leesburg and the Harris Chain of Lakes to the national audience.”
