Cecelia Marie Gruszczynski Arsenault, 71, of The Villages, FL and Wilbraham, MA died Monday, June 22nd at home.

Born on January 31, 1949 in Palmer, MA, to the late Stanley and Dorothy Gruszczynski, she was the beloved wife of Ronald Arsenault. Cece was a a 1966 graduate of Palmer High School and earned her Associates Degree in Nursing from Greenfield Community College. She worked for more than 30 years as a Registered Nurse, while raising her three children. Upon retiring, she spent her free time cooking, dancing, spending time with her family, and traveling with Ron. Some of her favorite destinations included Alaska and Iceland. Ron and Cece also had a special connection to Oqunquit, Maine.

In addition to her husband, Cece leaves her cherished sister, Sandy Lesniak and her husband, Kenny, her children, Erin Caouette and her husband, Bill, of Plantsville, CT, her son, Bill McCaughey, Jr., also of Plantsville, and her daughter, Marisa Faneuff and her husband, Bill, of Wilbraham, MA. She was the adored Grammy of Abby, Madison, Brody, Cameron, Liam, and Maisie. She also leaves her stepdaughters, Holly Menard, her husband Mike, and their four children and Amy Laliberte, her husband, Nick and their four children, a niece, Tina Lesniak Smith, and a nephew, Greg Lesniak, her treasured aunt, Mary Lou Dorval, many, many great nieces, nephews, and cousins, and a bevy of friends in Massachusetts, Florida, and Connecticut. Those who knew and loved her will remember her for her cooking, her generosity, her commitment to her family, her passion for Doo Wop music, and her feisty spirit.

A celebration of Cecelia’s life will be held on Wednesday, July 15, 2020 from 9-10:30am at Sampson’s Chapel of the Acres Funeral Home in Springfield, Massachusetts with a Mass to follow at Saint Cecilia Church in Wilbraham, Massachusetts beginning at 11:30. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Cece’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, ALSAC/St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN, 38105 or at stjude.org.
