Charles Bertsch

Charles Wayne Bertsch, 82, passed away Tuesday morning,  September 22, 2020 at Buffalo Crossings nursing facility in The Villages, Florida.

He was born on November 12, 1937 in Coldwater, Michigan. He is the son of Wayne Bertsch and Mary Helen (Unterkircher) Koranda.

Chuck was a long time Bronson, Michigan resident, having graduated from Bronson high school.  He was active in both City and County government as Vice Mayor and County Commissioner.

He was a career Insurance adjuster and auto body repairman.  If it was fixable Chuck did it.  After retirement he and his wife Judy moved to The Villages, Florida.

He is survived by his wife Judy Stevens Bertsch, sons Todd Bertsch and wife Julianne of Metamora, Michigan. Thomas Bertsch and wife Barbara of Murfreesboro, Tennessee.  6 grandchildren and several nieces. One brother Edward Bertsch and wife Gwen Step brother Ralph Burch and wife Charlene. He was preceded in death by his father Wayne Bertsch and step-mother Marie Bertsch, Mother Mary Helen (Unterkircher) Koranda, step-brother Lawrence Burch and a half-brother James Woodcox.

A memorial service is being planned for November 6th at Bushnell National Cemetery at 11:00, with a reception to follow at American Legion Post 347 in Lady Lake, FL from 12:30-3:00.

In lieu of flowers, those wishing to offer a memorial gift in his honor are asked to donate to the American Legion Honor Guard, Post 347, P.O. Box 1534 Lady Lake, FL. 32159
