Francis Schank

Francis “Frank” Schank, 90, of Rio Grande The Villages, passed away peacefully on October 4, 2020 surrounded by his loving family.

Formerly from Arcadia, WI he moved to The Villages in 1994 where he met and married his wife, Phyllis (Klingler) Schank. Together they enjoyed their retirement which included traveling, golf, bowling, billiards, playing board games, dining out with friends. He loved to host his family when visiting.

Francis grew up on a farm in Arcadia, WI and loved the farm life. With his keen sense of business, he started Francis Schank & Sons Construction Company. Later he added the Overhead Door Co of La Crosse, WI which he proudly passed on to his sons so that he could retire to The Villages.

Francis leaves behind his loving wife, (his little honey) Phyllis Schank, his fur-baby Toby the cat, his children: Kathy Manka, Marilyn (Tim) Rebarchek, Anthony (Nancy Kaashengen), James (Carol), Janet (Steve) Micek, Peter (Kathy), Laura (Stacy) Russell, Charles (Terri) Klingler, Linda (Steve) Harrington, 21 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind his brothers Bernie and Leo and sister Rosemary.

He is predeceased by his first wife Rita, son-in-law Robert Manka, grandson Dylan Schank, sister Phyllis.

Services will be held in October 14, 2020 in Arcadia WI at Holy Family Catholic Church with visitation from 9-11AM. Service to be held at 11AM with burial at Calvary Cemetery. A special prayer will be said at St. Timothy Catholic Church in The Villages.
