Villager thanks EMS personnel who saved husband’s life

To the Editor:

I would like to take this opportunity to thank the fire personnel stationed at the Bonita firehouse on the B Shift as well as the EMTs that responded to our home on Sept. 9 for a 911 call.
My husband collapsed on the garage floor and they were here in no time. They were very patient with him since he did not want to go to the hospital and just said he got dizzy. The had a monitor on him and his heart rate was 30. They told him it was critical to get him to go now. Finally after 15 minutes he gave in and said he would go still insisting that he had low blood pressure. They told him it was his heart rate that was low.
They got him in the ambulance thinking he was going to the VA hospital. He had a heart attack in their care and they rushed him to Leesburg hospital.
He was immediately brought in and his heart stopped on the table. The doctors got him going and if it wasn’t for the EMT getting him there we would be going to his funeral. Thank you Firefighters Luciano, May, Rados and Lavender and EMTs that were on hand. You were awesome.
