Robert Kearse

Robert “Bob” E. Kearse born June 11, 1937 passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones in his home in The Villages, FL on Oct 5, 2020.

Born in Ehrhardt, SC, he continued his education in 1955 at Clemson University on a baseball scholarship. He wore the tiger paw proudly for the rest of his life.  He served as a Paratrooper in the U.S. Army from 1957 – 1962. He continued his service by joining the Army Corps of Engineers and the Veteran’s Administration, before ultimately opening his own successful mortgage brokerage business in Atlanta, GA.   He and his wife, Barbara (nee Sossi), ran REK Investors Mortgage until retiring in 2001, making their home in the The Villages, FL.

Bob was known throughout his life for his southern accent, infectious sense of humor and his love of NASCAR and Cadillacs.  He will be sorely missed for his ability to bring laughter into every situation and to always make his family cry happy tears in prayer.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara, his children Margaret Chappell (Pat); Jennifer Keaton (Tom); Bethany Tebbe (Glenn); and Chad Heffernan (Mary Kay); Nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.  In lieu of flowers, please send donations to The Blinded Veterans Association, St Jude, or Hospice of Marion County.
