To the Editor:

Theresa Sylvester (Letter to the Editor, Oct. 27) urges us not to blame President Trump for the vast amount of death and damage COVID-19 has caused our country because “this came from China, not from him.”
Neither Ms. Sylvester nor President Trump seems willing to accept the obvious, that it does not matter one bit whether the virus came from China, or from the moon for that matter. Regardless where it originated, the virus is here and it is the president’s job to do whatever it takes to eradicate it and protect the life and safety of every American. Sadly, Donald Trump has failed to do so. His failure is inexcusable.
